Who doesn’t love the classic tale of the 3 Little Pigs? In this design challenge, children will use simple materials to engineer a stronger house for Little Pig Number 2. After reading or reviewing the story of the 3 Little Pigs, ask your child this question:
Can you help Pig Number 2 make a stronger house?
This activity is great for 3-6-year-olds, but could also be completed by a toddler with adult assistance and supervision.
Sticks and Play Dough
Materials
Book: The Three Little Pigs (any traditional version)
Everyday Household Materials: sticks from the yard
DIY Materials: play dough (recipe)
Alternative: Low-Cost Purchased Materials: play doh, popsicle sticks
*Substitutions are encouraged
